About Me!
Hi everyone and welcome to my website! My name is Imogen, I am 15 years old and I am Colouring Kid! I am passionate about colouring and I have a YouTube channel where I do colour & chats, tutorials, hauls, show tips and tricks and of course: completed colouring pages! My main aim is to inspire people and hope that you can take something away that you have learned or enjoyed and for everyone to have a fun time!
How it All Began...
As a child, I would always pick up pencils and pens to colour, as I'm sure many of you did. I scribbled my way through the pages and didn't really think about anything to do with the actual picture! What colours was I using? Did they go together? Was I going outside the lines? I was first aware of Adult Colouring when Johanna Basford and Millie Marotta came out with their first books - Secret Garden and Animal Kingdom - and I loved them! Like many of you, they were the first "proper" colouring books that I got and from there I was hooked!
A New Type of Colouring
In April 2017, I got my first set of 72 Prismacolor pencils along with the Romantic Country the Second Tale Colouring Book. By then, I had got a few more colouring books by Johanna Basford and Millie Marotta and was still colouring away, but this was when I started colouring a bit differently. I used practically every pencil in the set and therefore created a very bright page, but it was the time that I really tried to blend the colours and go one step further!
How is this colouring different?
Colouring for me is more than just putting colour to a page. I pick pages that speak to me that already have some of their colours embellished on the pages in my head. I choose any colours that I want to use and put them wherever I like! I consider colouring to be art because you are creating something colourful and interpreting something in your own way that is different from everybody else!
What am I up to now?
Nowadays, I have an abundance of books and colouring supplies from pencils and gel pens to chalk pastels and I love experimenting with new colour schemes and creating worlds of colour in my books! I colour what I want when I can and enjoy interacting with you all on my YouTube channel! Making content is something that I really enjoy and I am very fortunate to have such a lovely support network!
